WebbI don't mind the fat or thin necks. had a couple of Custom 22's with wide thin and they were really nice but also had a couple of SC245's and a Sunburst 22 with wide fat. They were no problem to play whatsoever but then I prefer slighter fatter necks. For instance, Fenders modern 'C' is too thin for my liking.
